A week ago Hugo came home! I can’t believe it has been a week already.
His first night at home was VERY hard, Hugo was scared and unsettled most of the time.
I suppose after being in a huge cot and staring at the same walls day in and day out, coming home and being allowed cuddles, having the noise from his brothers and sleeping in his little crib was a bit to much for him to take.
After a few days he did begin to settle though and now is back in full swing of family life, laughing and smiling when his brothers make silly noises for him and Nate really loves to read him stories.
We have had a few ups and downs with people wanting to come and visit as we wanted to be on our own for a few days so that we could enjoy being a family again.
We have also had to explain numerous times that we aren’t being “funny” or “over-protective” we have been advised by the hospital that he shouldn’t mix with other children until he has had his jabs (which he is behind with) and to avoid big groups of toddlers, like play areas and baby groups for the first 6 months of his life as we still don’t know what, if anything, is wrong with his immune system.
All I do know is that whatever the future holds, we will work together as a family to give Hugo all the love and support he needs.
We are the Mortimer 5!!
